Environmental Impact Assessment

I have extensive experience evaluating project interactions in the terrestrial environment. This includes reviewing and summarizing at-risk species and ecosystems, conservation-focused land designation areas, Indigenous rights and title, and provincial and federal permitting requirements. By conducting an environmental overview assessment early in the development process, I empower proponents to make well-informed decisions throughout the design, construction, and operational phases. I scope spatially and temporally relevant biophysical surveys to ensure a comprehensive understanding of baseline conditions.

I write technical documents independently and as part of complex, multi-disciplinary teams. I research and synthesize technical information and data using concise language, ensuring information is presented clearly and correctly to target audiences. I collaborate with project teams to summarize current conditions, potential project effects, and develop management plans. In addition, I provide third-party review of technical documents for clarity, structure, and technical accuracy.

I support impact assessments ranging from small-scale environmental overviews to major projects that require provincial or federal review. As terrestrial vegetation and wildlife lead, I have experience in the renewable energy, marine ports and terminals, and transportation sectors. I work with clients to develop data collection programs, ensure regulatory compliance, evaluate existing conditions, assess potential effects at ecologically relevant scales, and provide feasible and effective mitigation measures. I have consistently demonstrated my ability to establish positive working relationships with provincial and federal regulators.
